The Court comprised Capt. C. B. Barry, D.S.O. (President), Capt. AEM.B. Cunningham Graham, Capt. E G. N: Rushbrooke, D.S.C.. Cmdr.. R. M. Rick, DS.C., and Cmdr. E. M. Loly Pay-Chdr. H. G. Oswin was Deputy Judge Advocate. Cmdr. C. B: Arbuthnot was Pro- secuting Officer, whilst Warrant Writer J. Brain was Accused's Friend.
The charges were:
(1) accused being entrusted with $81.36 to obtain a cash re- mittance order for C.ER. A P. Wilson. (H.M.S. Seamew), fraudu; lently converted the money to his own use on August 14;
(2) accused "negligently failed to deliver to Pay.-Lieut. 3. O. Brit- tort the above sum on the same day.

Later. Pay.-Ltd.-Cmdr. Britton ordered a search to be carried out In the Pay office for the missing- remittance book. In this search, the accused. Eltott and Jeffery toof part. On the accused pro- lessing himself unable to produce the book, Pay-Lt.-Cmdr. Britton went to the Pay Office and order- ed all locked drawers to be opened. The accused unlocked his drawer. The book was not there.

October 13, accused ap- proached Lieut. W. E Davey, (HMS. Tamar) and asked him for a loan of $100 representing that unless he could produce that sum within a few minutes, dis- ciplinary action would be taken against him. Lent. Davey replied that he would give his decision 'in ten minutes' time.
By this time, Pay.-Cmdr. Hen- derson had obtained confirmation in writing of certain pertinent facts and sent for the accused..
