In the first three quarters of 1935.
In terms of local currency the total visible trade of the Colony increased by 40.0 per cent. In the first three quarters of 1937 as com- pared with the first three quarters of 1936, and by 88.0 per cent, as compared with the first three quarters of 1935.
In terms of sterling the total vialble trade of the Colony in- creased by 35.7 per cent. In the first three quarters of 1937 as.com- pared with the first three quartera of 1938, and by 10 per cent. as compared with the first three quarters of 1935.

SEPTEMBER FIGURES During the month of September, 1937 Imports of merchandise amounted to a total of $34,7 mil- llons (£4.0 millions) as compared with $38.2 millions (£24 millions) in September, 1936: a dollar in crease of 69.4, per cent., and a sterling Increase of 66.7 per cent: whilst exports totalled $39.4 mil- lions (£2.4 millions) as compared with $29.8 millions (£1.8 millions); a dollar increase of 32.2 per cent. and a sterling increase of 33.3 per cent.
