PASSAGE FACILITIES

A Fleet Order dealing with the facilities offered for naval per- sonnel who contemplate taking wives and families abroad shows that these facilities are of two kinds. Special concessions from their tariff rates are granted by certain shipping companies for the Mediterranean. China, Africa, America and West Indies and information concerning these will be furnished at the naval depôts on application. Indulgente pass- age may be also granted in trans- ports, in which the claims of the wives and familles of naval officers and retings are considered in con- Junction with those of Army, and R.A.F personnel. Opportunities tor indulgence passages are very rare, as the accommodation in transports. 16 almost invariably fully occupied by passengers en- titled to passage at Government expense.
