NEWS OF DEAN SWANN AND HIS CHURCH
"Brother's Appointment
The Rev. Alfred Swann, DS.C., late Dean of St. John's Cathedral know Rector and Rural Dean of Potterne Church, near Devizes. The Church recently figured in "Times" leader. It is proposed that the early English glass which was once the pride of Salisbury Cathedral, and which is now being collected and reassembled by de-. veted enthusiasts, shall be put in Fotterne Church.
The reassembled glass has proved too fragmentary for Salisbury Cathedral where the windows are Jarge. Potterne is suggested be- cause it was bullt at the same time as Salisbury, by the same architect, and has always been very closely connected with the Cathedral, writea Bishop Hall in the current Issue of the “Andrian,”
Friends of the late Dean and his wife will be interested to know that Mrs. Swarin's brother, the Rev. P. Abraham, has been consecrated coadjutor Bishop of Newfoundland. He served for some years in Canada and has been recently Vicar of Romtord T. Essex.
The Dean's elder brother, the Rev. S. E. Swann, has recently been appointed Vicar of St. Mary Redcliffe, Bristol
