Auckland. Fan-American Airways wil be- gin a regular service across the Pacing between Alameda Airport, near San Francisco, and Auckland at the end of December, stated Mr. Harold Gatty, who arrived aboard the Mariposa to reside in Auck- land as the company's representa- tive.

He said that two more survey Alights will be made this year in December. The Arst 'plane would arrive in New Zealand in the Arst week of December, and the Pan- American Airways would begin the

The dance floor aft was delight- rully cool and many people took provided. One of the most ardent advantage of the excellent band dancers was a lady whose volup-

terest.

The Captain and Oncers were indefatigable in their efforts to see that everyone was happy, and the staff of stewards were magnificent in their cheerful and tireless service.

A party on such a gigantic scale calls for enormous organisation and the fact that this one went with a swing from the word go is a fine tribute to those responsible. When I left at 8.30 p.m. there were. still crowds of people sitting about with that pleased and settled look which bespeaks appreciation of excellent entertainment.

It is pointed out that releases from concentration camps are by no means exceptional and that Jews who desire to emigrate are released if there are no serious objections to setting them free.
