Children's Sale Of
Work
A very pleasant function took place at the Prison Officers' Mess at Stanley yesterday afternoon when Mrs. N. L. Smith, wife of His Excellency the Officer Administer- ing the Government. opened the children's sale of work.
The culmination of two months efforts during the summer holidays of 30 children of the Prison De- partment of Ministering Children's League under the supervision of Mrs. G. Ingram Shaw, to whom much credit was due, was brought to light yesterday afternoon when beautifully knitted jerseys and magnificently sewn bags and table Following is the disposition or oths and other domestic things HM. ships in North China:-

years of age were also on sale.
Immediate response in any con- siderable number is not expected from serving men who wish to ex- tend their service, for the date on which the then complete their short service vary and are spread over several years. The majority are not sufficiently near the end of their service to make an immediatel decision, but those affected this year show considerable interest in the pensions plan, and O.C.s are receiving applications for extension of service.
