Queen To Be Patron Of Women's Section

The Queen has consented to be- come a Patron of the Women's Section of the Empire Exhibition, which opens in Glasgow next May. A committee headed by the Countess of Elgin is planning the part women will play in the Ex- hibition, and arranging displays which will show the activities of women n every part of the Empire. Members of women's organisations serving on the Committee repre- sent half a million British women.

The Women's Section at the Ex- hibition will show in detall, wo- men's achievements in art, crafts, domestic science, welfare work. literature and music and the many other felds in which women are taking a leading part to-day. It will be housed in a separate pavi llon covering 10,000 square feet.

COUNTRÝWOMEN'S HANDICRAFT

One section of the Pavilion will be devoted to an exhibition of countrywomen's handicrafts from the whole Empire. The Country- Women's Associations at home and. throughout the Empire have been invited to send examples of their handicrafts, and already provisi onal acceptances have been receiv- ed from the National Federation of Women's Institutes of England and Wales, the Scottish Women's
