Soon after the Garrison it became necessary to provide a Kitchen, the necessary extra guard not requiring military service was not part of the plan for the Garrison; the service created cost £10.9.4 under Report and Estimate #85 of 1854.

Remains to the Police Station, in Victoria under Report and Estimate #26 of 1853 amounted to £210.9.4.

A variety of services which strictly speaking are of a Miscellaneous nature I am obliged to charge either under the head of "Construction" or "repair", and under that of the former for buildings account I made payments amounting to £19.17.-, Requisitions 122, 3 and 8 for protection of Government Buildings, the purchase of Flags, watchmen, Cart hire, etc., under the latter head upon Requisition #31, 5, 6, 9, 10 and 11 I made a variety of repairs to the following Buildings, Government offices, Police Stations Gaols and Governor's Residence amounting in the aggregate to the sum of £57.9.6. This the total payment made on account of Buildings, whether under construction or repair, amounted to the sum £4589.5.9.
