Allegations Against German Evangelist

DR. DIBELIUS ACQUITTED

Berlin, Aug. 7. the well-known Dr. Dibellus,

of the Superintendent-General German Evangelical Confession Church, was acquitted yesterday afternoon on a charge of having deliberately circulated in public untrue assertions which tended to seriously damage the prestige of the Relch Minister for Church Af- fairs and the German Government Costs of the trial will be borne by the State.

In the course of the trial it was revealed that Dr. Dibellus, who was arrested on Monday, had published an open letter to the Minister of Church. Afairs in February, de- fending the Confessional move- "ment against the religious policy
