JURY EXPRESS SYMPATHY
Circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Mr. C. E. Watson, proprietor of Brewer's Bookshop, which occurred at an early hour on June 28, as the result of a fall from his residence at No. 26, Carnarvon Road, 2nd floor, were probed at an inquest held at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon. Mr. K. M. A. Barnett sat as Coroner, assisted by the following Jury:—M. F. Key (foreman), Yeo Choon-chan and Hans Lowig.

The story of murder, carried out at No. 337 Shanghai Street, ground floor, was heard before the Acting Chief Justice, His Honour Mr. Justice C. G. Alabaster, at the Criminal Sessions yesterday, when Tong Shum-wing, 26-year-old car penter, appeared on trial for the alleged murder of his clansman. Tong Shu Lam; aged 27. on May 17.
The jury empanelled for the case were: Messrs. D. J. Fraser (Foreman), Thackman Law, RH L.A. Unnuss. Foo Ping-yen, Char- les Chun Ham, Young Chen-chuep and Kwan Saufung,

Deceased's bedroom had two win dows opening to the back yard. The height from the fat to the back yard was 31 feet. Close by the window there was a chair which was 2 feet 10 inches high; a cushion which was on the chair bore two foot-marks. The height between the chair and the window sill was only a few inches.
A search of the room was made, but witness could not find any relating to the correspondence
state of deceased's mind.
Corroborative evidence was given by several other witnesses. The jury, after having heard the evidence returned a verdict of accidental death and added their heart-felt sympathy to the relatives and friends of the deceased, to which his, Worship added, "I wish to associate myself with your ex- pression of sympathy"
