years in Her Majesty's
Service, (having been appointed
on 14th November 1845) and
for the last soon
years
have
acted as Registrar, during
which time I have endeavoured
to perform the several duties of my Office to the best of my ability, and, I trust to the satisfaction of the Government here
I am afraid This Governor
may consider this application premature, but I would observe that as the Vacancy, should it occur, will take place at home,
I deem it
necessary that
my
request should be laid before the Home Authorities previous to the occurrence of Mr Bayley's resignation.
