THE “AURORA”.
Some Features Of
The Coach
The "Aurora," the new conditioned couch of the Kowloon- Canton Railway, was placed on the run to Canton with effect from Monday. The" coach seats 31 passengers, 14, of whom can be accommodated in the lounge por- tion in comfortable arm-chaira tö which domes of silence have been attached to enable them. to be readily moved by means of finger pressure to any position 'k passen- ger may desire. There is a púrquet' Boor and a central blue carpet
The coach is painted Aluminium colour to obtain the best radiation o solar heat. The floor, celling and wooden panelling are insulated with cork "two inches thick, and the very large windows are sealed.
AIR-CONDITIONING
The air-conditioning system was provided by The Trane Company U.S.A., and is of the Ice-Activated type. There are two large bunkers underneath the coach into which lee is loaded every morning by the Dairy Farm Company prior to the run. As the ice melts, 18, 15 pumped through the pre-cool- ing and main coils, and from thence it is returned to the bankers in the form of fine sprays." Air is forced under pressure round the outside of these colls where its temperature drops and its excess moisture content is extracted. "It then passes through a central duct placed in the roof of the conch. This duct contains a series of holes approximately located above the seats. The air is exhausted at the rate of 400 cubic feet a minute: 20 per cent is made up from the
outside air which passes through 2 viscous filter before passing through the coils, the remaining 80. per cent being re-circulated alter filtering

A Physical Culture Class is held by Mrs. Pearce in the Gymnasium. This room, by the way, seemed amply big when the School first started, but now (with so many pupils) It is hardly large enough, and as ground is available it will. probably be extended shortly.
The delightful grounds are a great feature of Bt. Mary's School. A tennis court and basket - ball

report. If it had been a high ex- plosive there would have been no passengers left and very little of the pier. The blowing of a body to the roof of the Hong Kong Club was what witness would expect with such an explosion.
Blas Bay is notorious for its pirates, and its history as the centre. for planning piratical raids on Hong Kong and Kwangtung shipping dates back at least 100 years:
