The volume of business during the past week was low, and prices were inclined to be slightly easter as a result. No weight of selling was apparent, however, while on. the other hand enquiry was quietly maintained, though mainly con- aned to investments.
Banks renewed their advance, to $1950, with business done as high as $1955, whlie Unions, which. have beer a quiet market for a ttle time past, likewise came under enquiry and at $623 de- mand is unsatisfied.
Cements and Hotels declined to $14.80 and 57 respectively... but en- |quiry revived, at declining prices.
Ferries were outstandingly firm, and buyers offer $36." with Hittle response from sellers.
. In Manila. markets behaved well despite unsettling advices from London, but the general level of prices ruled somewhat lower at the close of business to-day, thản
a week ago, though a considerable portion of the recovery has been maintained, notably in the Mars- man group.
