Remarkable Volume Packed With Drama

(REVIEW BY THE EDITOR)

, :

Rarely, if ever, has so remarkable a volume been offered to the English reading public as "Sian: A Coup D'Etat" by Mayling Soong Chiang, the world. famed Madame Chiang Kai-Shek, wife of the Generalissimo of China.

This book not only is history in the political sense; it makes history in the literary sense, because no more fearlessly, sincere outpourings from two great hearts. and minds have, to our knowledge, ever graced the realm of publication than the story by Madame Chiang Kai-Shek and the diary by her husband during that eventful fortnight of captivity by subordinates.

The story of the Stan affair is very well known from the drama-
