Asiatic deck passengers 'entering the Colony during the twenty-four hours ended at 9.00 am yesterday were 1,743, of which 1.689 were from British steamers.

The twin-screw ocean-going sal- vage tug "Talkoo" was launched. yesterday at 10:30 am, the chris- tening ceremony being performed by Mrs. H. E. Greig,

The vessel has the following principal dimensions:-

Length: 165" (′′ overall. Breadth: 35' 0".

Depth: 16' 9" to main deck. with a combined bridge and fore- castle and a raised quarter deck.

Comfortable accommodation will be provided for officers and mem- bers of the salvage party, the crew being quartered in the space for- ward, while ample accommodation' has been provided for workmen when on salvage operations.
