The market again ruled quiet, Buring the past week, but interest, 29 a whole was satisfactorily maintained, with a persistent if not. large `enquiry for investments,
and a renewal of enquiry in the speculative section whenever rates showed any attraction by reason of their having 'eased off.
Slightly higher rates. prevail in Electrics $61, Ferries $85, Lands $357, Underwriters $2.10.
Lights at $14 are slightly easler, while Trams have been dull at $141.
Banks advanced sharply. to $1935, under active enquiry.
In Manila, notably steady mar- ket were reported daily. Prices all round rule higher than previously, and close firm, led by the Mard man group, in which sharp advan- ced have been recorded, and main- tained.

London, May 27. The eighth meeting of the prin cipal delegates to the Imperial Conference was held to-day. It was decided that the representa tives of Southern Rhodesia and Burma should be added to the committee on war materials and foodstuffs set up on Monday. The principal delegates will meet again on Monday when it is stated that Mr. Ormsby Gore will open, the discussion on colonial ques- tions; and mandates. The discus- sion on foreign affairs will be re sumed on Tuesday when Mr. Ans thony Eden, will have returned from Geneva-Britik Wirelca.
