THE MEDEA TO BE SCRAPPED
H.M.S. Medea is ordered to be scrapped after rellet by H.MB. Pio- ver in the autumn of 1937. The Plover is being built by Messrs. Denny and Brothers, Dunbarton, and will be launched next month. The Medea was orginally the moni- tor M 22, built by Bir Raylton Dixon and Co. in 1915, and served as such in the Eastera Mediterranean dur- ing the War. She was paid off at Malta in October, 1919, and in the following year was brought home and allocated for duty as mining

CEYLON'S NEW AIR STATION
The £400,000 scheme for a com- pletely equipped air station, at Trincomalee, the strategic naval air base in Ceylon, is progressing rapidly.
A cable announces that the first RAF airplanes will be able to land there by the end of the year,
