A million people are estimated to have gathered at noon at Southsea, Isle of Wight and Stokes Bay to watch the Coronation Naval Review. Thousands slept all night long on the beach and thou- sands more arrived from daybreak onwards by motor coach and train.
Princess Elizabeth was also an early riser, running about the decks of the Royal yacht Victoria and Albert. At 8 a.m. she was eagerly gaxing at the ships and later she was joined by her father who strolled on the quarter deck talking to her. The body of another Japanese was found floating in the harbour yesterday morning. A hand, leg. head and several unidentified por- tions of bodies were also recovered from the harbour in the vicinity of the scène of the disaster.
