Silver prices rose 1/8 yesterday for both deliveries, the quotations being 20 1/16 for Ready and 20 1/2 for Forward. Silver advices re- ported India, as having bought. A small business Wis done. The market closed steady. After the official fixing there were small in- quiries at the fixed rate but sellers were scarce. American Silver was quoted at 45 1/4 for Spot.

The London-New York, cross-rate was quoted at 495.58, New York- London was quoted at 495.3/4.
