Funeral At Happy Valley

The funeral of the late Mrs. A. A. Dand, who passed away at the Government Civil Hospital yester- Roman day, took place at the Catholic Cemetery, Happy Valley, last evening. The deceased

was

the wife of Mr. A. A. Dand, and 接 was extremely popular with

large circle of friends in the Co- lony. She had been ill för several weeks but the news of her death came as a shock to her friends.

The late Mrs, Dand will be re- membered as having been on the star of the Java-China-Japan

fully modelled travelling-dress of shark-skin, with a palest blue dainty vest of ruffled white or- gandle, white shoes and a hat of white lace-straw, and carried a bouquet of white carnations and shaded pink larkspur,

The bridesmaid was Miss Isobel Henderson who wore a tailored cont and skirt of white, a blue frilled blouse, and hat and gloves of the same shade, and wore a corsage- spray of pale pink carnations. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Robert Minnitt.

During the signing of the regis- ter a lovely anthem was sung by Mrs. R. Sanger whose exquisite voice rang through the Cathedral with delightful effect.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Sommers at Abermore Court. Dr. Sommers proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom. In a few well-chosen words, and the 'groom replied, after which the Hon. Dr. Wellington proposed the toast to the bridesmaid, the reply being made by the best man..

After the reception the happy couple left for the honeymoon which will be spent cruising in a yacht kindly lent by Mr. Shields.
