LOCARNO TREATY GUARANTEE ANZAC DAY OBSERVED

London, April 24.
The Joint Anglo-French statement releasing Belgium from her obligations as a guarantor power " under the Locarno Treaty says that the Anglo-French Governments had given full attention to the desire of Belgium to have her international rights and obligations clarified where they were rendered necessary by her geographical position, and by the delays which may stil occur before the conclusion of a general act to replace the Locarno Pact.
They had particularly taken note of the determination expressed by Belgium to defend her frontiers with all its forces against any aggression or invasion, and to prevent Belgian territory being used for the purpose of aggression against another state, or as a passage or base of operations by land," sea and air, and also of her. determination to organise the defence of Belgium in an efficient manner ior this purpose.
