Oriental Development Co. To Buy Coal Deposits
The Oriental Development Co.. in co-operation with Mr. Hachiro Tetsui, a Dairen businessman, has decided to exploit, a coal mine in North China, taking advantage of the reassertion of an atmosphere of Sino-Japanese economic Co- operation, according to the Japan- ese press, states the "North China Dally News." A Chinëse coal mine, owned by Gen. Chi Hatch-yuan, member of the Hopel-Chahar Poll- tical Council, will be purchased by Oriental Development. The Great Wall Coal Mining Co. operated the mine, which is 18 miles northwest of the Great Wall, until January, "1932, when Japanese and Chinese
troops clashed at Shanhalkwan.
Oriental development has de-
·cided to establish the Totaku, Min- ing and Railway Co., co-operation with Mr. Tetsul and other enter-" prisers. It is arranged that the company will operate the mine. Negotiations for the pur- chase have already been started. The establishment meeting of Totaku Mining will be held early in May,
