PROVING THAT. THEIR RECENT SENSATIONAL VICTORY OVER SOUTH CHINA “A” WAS NO MERE "FLASH IN THE PAN," NAVY WENT ON TO DECISIVELY VANQUISH SOUTH CHINA "B" TO THE TUNE OF FOUR GOALS TO TWO AT CAUSEWAY BAY YESTERDAY. WHATEVER REMOTE CHANCE THE CHIN- ESE XI HAD AS CHAMPIONSHIP ASPIRANTS IS NOW COM- PLETELY OBLITERATED UNLESS THE PRESENT LEADERS COLLAPSE COMPLETELY, WHICH IS VERY UNLIKELY.

Navy's victory can be traced directly to the ability of their forwards to grasp their opportunities and to the resolute defence

The sailors' goals were all typi- cally good, first Tippetts, and Anderson scored prior to the interval and Johnstone and Tip- petts followed up in the second half with another couple.

.South China's goals were both scored in the second half. Had Black and Anderson been in better shooting form, Navy would have surely increased their score, while South China also failed in this" respect, particularly "Chuk Chek- kam and Yruk Hong-koo. INTER-UNIT BOXING

Close Win For Fusiliers

(BY ROY MURRAY). The enthusiastic array of boxing fans who assembled at Shamanul- po on Tuesday night to witness the. Inter-Unit Novices Boxing Final between Fusiliers and Rifles was an emphatic contradiction to those critics who hold that the "Noble Art" enjoys but a limited popularity amongst the local sporting fraternity, and Fusillers' narrow one point win fully exem-. piffed the close rivalry which existed between the two teams.

The closing welter-weight bout between Rim Quinn and L/C. Simmonds was the thriller of the evening, the Rifles representative receiving a popular verdiet after an exciting 3 rounds.
