WITH SATANIC CEDRIC
Now that they have completely established themselves in the aft fections of the many patrons of the fashionable Hong Kong Hotel, Cedric and Arlinda are becoming more arresting in every act,
Edith and Billy look very young. very gay, and very charming, for they dance with irresistible "jole de vivre" which is rather re- miniscent of another famous brò- ther and sister,-Fred and Adele Astaire, in the days when they took London by storm before she became Lady Cavendish..
Their first dance was a rhythmi-. cal, swinging waltz, in which Billy, In black tails, moved as lightly as a swallow, as he swung his partner Hll her foamy white skirts rippled and curved like a breaking wave. Their second dance was a Tango, and for this Exith appeared in a dazzling sequin dress that seemed to flow round her like molten gold, emphasising every line of a per- fect figure. When her partner whirled her madly round it flash- ed and glittered like fire. We know that Edith makes rather & point of never wearing the same dress twice, but we really hope she will make an exception, and let us see that glorious gown' agaln
"Every dance they gave was en- cored but this dance was cheered to the echo. and they responded with 1 crazy Jazz-step which pleased immensely.

was a great success.
Their excellent performance on Saturday night in the Root Gar- charming der. was conspicuously successful, and although all their numbers were of high calibre, yet by far the most brillant number was the Moonlight Madonna.
With Arlinda as a particularly sophisticated Madonna gowned su- perbly in artistically flowing black, and
Cedric bearing a naughty resemblance to his satanic majesty, this number was received with rounds of applause.
Cedric and Arlinda are here for a while, but, such is their success that whatever the duration of their stay in Hong Kong may be, it cannot be too long.

Lie!
||
The vengeful rury of a husband's hate!
Intrigue, romance, adventure- with the fate of an empire at stake! This is "Lloyds of London," the brilliant" new Twentieth Century-Fox hit which is showing at the Queen's and Alhambra Theatres, to-day.
Ablaze with action, vivid with pageantry and vital with drama, this story of a love that changed the destiny of an empire unites in swiftly-moving kaleidoscope the thrilling account of the founding of England's sea power, and the establishment of the world's most exciting and extraordinary institu- tion.,
Freddie Bartholomew and Made- leine Carroll are starred in the ex- ceptional cast, which features Sir Guy Standing and the new roman- tic sensation Tyrone Power, C. Aubrey Smith and Virginia Field.
BORN TO DANCE
That peculiarly rhythmic tap- ping sound which is being heard all over town to-day is merely the echo of Eleanor Powell who once again clinches her title of The World's Greatest Feminine Tap Dancer in the Metro-Goldwyn Mayer musical spectacle, "Born to Dance," which came to the Majes- tic Theatre screen last night.
Miss Powell, who first won huz- zahs from crities and film audi- exices alike in "Broadway Melody ot 1936," is a delight to behold, a pleasure to listen to and a tremen- dous treat to lovers of dancing in any form. In her first picture she proved her versatility by awitching Trom tap dancing to ballet; in "Born to Dance" she introduces s bewildering array of routines, in- cluding even an original version of the current popular "swing" tempo,
