EASTER RACE
MEETING
(Continued from Page 1)
OPENING EVENT An even field of "B" Class China ponies should face the starter in this race which is from the 2 Mile Post Once Round and In. Expan slop Time has been alloted top weight and it well ridden should stand an excellent' chance in spite of the strong opposition. This grey mare ran a great race in the Hong Kong Derby when she finished se- cond to Happy Eve and the rest- she has had since that classic' will prove benencial Rose Queen has been showing improved form and will be a strong challenger, but this mare is unrellable and corisequent- ly I prefer the chance of Havoc Eve, if started, for second place! King's Lead will be taken out by Mr. S. C. Liang and should run well, but Mistake Bay (163 lb.) will find the weight too much to handle. As an outsider and expe- cially if the going should be wet. I recommend Bright View.
SWATOW HANDICAP FIRST There is really nothing cutstand- -ing in this "D" Class event and the eyen distribution of weights has iri no way. simplined the task of picking the probable winner. "Plain View is as good as any of the other contestants and another 7′ lbs., fór his win at Macao, will not put this black out of the race. Pride of Tsingtao is in at 158 lbs. and this game old champion will need watching. Valorous has fallen off a lot in form and has 168 lbs. to carry but this grey has been re- cently demoted arid" may there- fore run into a place. Victoria Hall ran exceptionally well during the Annual Meeting and would be worth a small investment in the case of those locking, for big re- turns.
ST. KILDA HANDICAP On paper Saucy Face appears to -have an excellent chance of ad- nexing the honours in this raco for "B Class Australian Ponies. Snowy River will find the distance (2 Mile Post Once Round and In) more to his ųking and in view of this cream's strong finish I believe he will be the real danger to Saucy Face. Blandford should be able to secure a place. There is strong support for Australian Boy amongst some of the rail fans but it will be a problem as to whether this bay can carry the weight.. (161 lbs).

As good as King's Warden is. I am of the opinion that it is ask- ing a little too much of him to spot 19 lbs. and 28 lbs. respectively to Soldier of Britain and Oak Bay in a sprint race over six furlongs. Rumours, however, are to the effect that this champion grey will not start. Another doubtful starter is Happy Eve, who in all probability will be kept over for Monday's mant match played at the U.S.RC. In United Hockey Tourng- main event, the Easter Stakes. CORONATION 1937
In the year 1307, King Edward II of England ordered the Sénéchal of Gascony and the Conétable of Bordeaux to send Qne Thousand Hogsheads of Bordeaux Wine to England for the celebration of His Coronation.
"In accordance with this tradition Hanappier, Peyrelongue & Co., are shipping a Reserve of the famous Château "Calon-Ségur. Vintage 1928, 1st Growth Saint-Estèphe, and a "Cru Classé of Medoc, which they have especially selected for the Coronation Celebrations
They are also having a Special Coronation Bottling of that splendid Vintage: 1934, to be laid down for later consumption, and which will be ready for shipment in February 1937.
Drink the health of King George VI in Wine from Gascony, that fair Province over which reigned Kings Edward II and Edward III. Château Calon-Ségur, one of the oldest Châteaux in Gascony, is well worthy of that honour.
