Hong Kong. Mar 17 Silver prices rose 1/8 yesterday for both delloveries, the quotations being 20 7/8 for Ready and For- ward. Silver advices reported In- dla and the Continent as having bought. Speculators sold to a small extent. The market closed steady. After the official fixing business Was done at 1/16 over the quoted rates followed by trans- actions at the fixed rate. India bought. American Silver was quot- ed at 45 5/8 for spot.
The London-New York cross- rate was quoted at 488.65. New York-London was "quoted at
