OF FULL POINTS H.K.C.C. Set Impossible Task
The first division cricket match between the Indian Recrea- tion Club and the Hong Kong Cricket Club, on the latter's ground on Saturday ended in a draw, much to the disappointment of the large number of supporters of the Sookunpoo Club who turned out to watch the game.
Batting first the I.R.C. ran up the big score af 203 for 4, de- clared, and the consensus of opinion was that if the 1.R.C. skip-". per had applied the closure when the score stood at 180 runs at 3.55 p.m., instead of going on til after 4.30 p.m. before doing so, the result might have been in favour of the Indians, As it was the Club was left with the impossible task of scoring 204 run In 90 minutes and they very correctly took things easily, thus de- priving the Indians of what otherwise may have been a finò win win which would Have given them custody of the shield for the season.
As a result of the draw, the In- dlans must beat the KC.C. next Saturday to win the shield, unless the HK.C.C. falter against the C.C.C., in which case a draw with

ACCIDENT AT CRICKET
Owen Hughes Sustains Nasty Injury
H. Owen Hughes, former Inter port captain and one of the best all-round cricketers of the Hong Kong Cricket Club, sustained a severe injury when playing for the Club against the Indian R.C. on the HK.C.C. ground on, Satur- day afternoon.
Whilst bowling. Owen Hughes was struck in the face by the ball from a powerful drive by A. H. Madar, the Interporter, who was batting. The accident occurred shortly before 3.15 pm. when the Indians total had reached 90 for three wickets.
