The visitors attacked immediately and a minute later were awarded a free kick for rough play by one of the Chinese defenders. Following the kick. the ball was passed back and forth across the Chinese goalmouth un- til the local side broke away and strongly attacked the Shanghai citadel. They were rewarded for their efforts when from a serim- mage Chow Man-chi beat Boisse- zon with a low shot into the cor- ner of the net. (Shanghai 0, Chi- nese 1).

SHANGHAI'S REPLY,

The Chinese came back again and following a pretty centre by Tinh Kwony Sun. Chan Tak fai found himself placed in a good position, but the centre-forward shot wide. The Chinese were for- ced to concede a corner shortly after and Bossuet cleverly put his head to the ball to even the score. (Shanghai 1, Chinese 11.
