The outstanding event week-end will be the Final Inter port Trial (Probables v. Possibles) which will be played on the Club ground to-morrow when the Selec- tion Committee will make their Anal choice of the players to re- present Hong Kong in the forth- coming match against the 'Shang- hat eleven, The Interport match. is scheduled for February 11, 30 that there is not much time for the selectors to make up their minde regarding the players.
Sports writers are at variance regarding the final line-up and it would be interesting to note their differences of opinion. "Veritas" favours the following team:-Row- lands: Lee Tin-sang and A. V. Gosano: Leung Wing-chlu, N.. Beltrao and Evans: Yeung Shut- yick, Fung King-cheang. Lee Wal. ton, Wilson and Bickford. EB contemporary advocates: - Pau Ka-ping or Rodger; Lee Tin-sang and Tam Kong-pak; A. V. Gosano.
and N. Beltrao
Wride; Yeung Shul-yick, Fung King-cheong, Lee Wal-tong, A. Wilson, and Bickford or D. Knox,
"R. H. B" writing in the "Daily Press," picks the following team :— Rowlands; Lee Tin-sang and A. V. Gosano; Leung Wing-chlu, Beltrao and Campbell or Bliss: Yeung Shui-yick or Erwin, Leonard, Lee Wal-tong, Wilson and Bickford. But, what will be the selectors' choice?
OUTSIDE LEFT BERTH To-morrow's Interport Trial will give the selectors' their opportun- ity to decide, upon the left-half, right-wing and left-wing berths, D. Knox this week will be tried at the outside-left position. On ac- count of Lee "Wal-tong's presence, Knox must fit himself to another position. Although he started local football at cutside-left, ne has been consistently played at centre-forward and it is yet doubt- ful whether he will be able to ac custom himself to playing at his former position again. Bo far, as Bickford is.concerned, he has dis- tinguished himself in so many Interports at outside-left that many had thought he was a cer.... tainty, and although his form has not been very consistent recently. some still favour him for that berth in view of his past per- formances.
CHINESE INTERPORT
The Hong Kong Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation have agreed to hold an Interport of their own on Sunday, February 14, while the clash against the Com- bined Services will be played on Wednesday, February 17. In- cidentally, several matches have been arranged to be played in. Canton, the principal one being against the Rest of Canton,
In order to raise funds for the Fong Pin Hospital, the Combined Federations of Hong Kong and Carlon have Invited Recrelo 'and St. Joseph's to send a combined team to Canton on February 21. The latter will meet a team drawn from the Hong Kong, Shanghai and Canton Chinese.
LEAGUE MATCHES Beveral interesting League games have been arranged for to-day," among which the encounter pe- tween Recreio and 'Seaforths, at King's Park should be the drawing card. In view of Recreio's per- formance last week, when they defeated St. Joseph's and earned their entry into the Semi-finals of the Senior Shield, besides earning
