COMPETITION Chun-Shing Institute Of Commerce

SERIES OF TESTS

Seventeen typewriters clicked at the Chun-shing Institute of Com merre last night when the annual typewriting competition was held. The idea which prompted the or- officials of the Institute to ganise the competition was pri- marily to study the improvement, and progress of old Budents who have graduated and are now in the business world.

The competition proved very interesting and took the form of three testa They were neatness; speed and accuracy; and a dieta- tion test.

In the neatness test the candi- to dates were given "15 minutes typewrite a manuscript letter.

The speed and accuracy test was held in accordance with the In- ternational Typewriting Contest Ru.cs and in this the candidates "weze also allulted 15 minutes Two of the competitors completed 4.786 strokes in a minute less that. the specified time.

The dictation, test comprised the typing of a letter. This was, com- pleted in eight minutes.

Three handsome prizes, donated respectively by Dr. Arthur Woo, Dr. F. C. Thang and Mr. S. H. Lee, fall be awarded to the winners of each test

The prize winners will be an- nounced to-morrow.

At the conclusion of the com- petition, Mr. C. B. Kwok, the Director of the Institute, enter- tained the candidates to tea.

Mr. H. T. L Secretary of Institute, on behalf of Mr. Kwok spoke a few words of encourage- 'ment to the competitors and said that those who won prizes should continue to improve their type-
