was associated with the training of cadets before the War as a lleu- Lemaht in HMS. Cumberland, As a cadet, he was in one of the last. terms to join H.M.S. Britannia be- fore, the opening of Dartmouth" College in 1003. He served during the War in the destroyer Meteor and in command of the destroyers Garry, Druid, Murray, arad Sturgeon. In 1921-22 he was in H.M.S. Renown during the tour of the Prince of Wales to India and Japan, and afterwards served in the Royal yacht Victoria and Albert.
