Melbourne, January 7. Australia won the third Test match by 365 runs at Melbourne this morning and must now win the remaining two Tests if she to retain the Ashes won by W. M. Woodfull's team in Eng« land in 1934.
Maurice Leyland played delightful cricket to score 111 runs not out in 194 minutes, hitting 11 boundaries. Together with R. W. V. Robinis (61) he added 111 runs for the seventh wicket in ,, a plucky but unavailing attempt to pull the game out of the fire. Interviewed after the inatch G. O. B. Allen, the English skip- per, said: "What more can I say than I heartily congratulate the Australians."
