Divorce Law Reform
As indicated by Lord Salvesen in his article on Reform of Divorce Law in Scotland, published in
The Glasgow Herald" recently, a Bill embodying the proposals he outlined is to be presented to the House of Lords, writes a "Glas- gow Herald" correspondent. I un- derstand the it is the intention of Lord Air 23, who wil sporisor the measure to introduce the, Bill. next week so that in can be print ed without loss of time and t text made public. The probability is that it will not come up for sec- ond reading until after the Christ- mas recess, but the interval will permit of the Peers in general studying the terms of the measure. and of the Government in parti- cular deciding the attitude to be adopted to it. Only lately the House of Commons. I a second reading debate, gave approval to a somewhat similar Bill for England, and this has encouraged the hope that both Parliament and White hall will be of the same frame or mind towards the proposed Scot- tish legislation.
