(BY LONGSHOREMAN). During the 24 hours ended at 9.00 am yesterday, the freight returns, received from the Har- bour Office, showed a moderate
tonnage movement.
The total tonnaget general cargo currled by vessels to the Colony was 9,541 tons, with British steamers carrying 1,187 tons.
Through cargo for ports be- sond the Colony amounted 20.024 tons, of which 12624 tons. to
were carried by British steamers.
Asiatic deck passengers entering Intu the Colony during the 24 hours ended at 9,00 3.m. yesterday. were 436, of which 218 were from British steamers,

Nanking: To unify the conser- vancy and flood-prevention in the Yellow Hiver a set of regulations has been promulated by the National Economic Council.
According to the regulations, the Yellow River Conservancy commission is solely in charge of the conservancy, and dyke-repair- ing work in the river. River affairs bureaux in various provinces will be abolished and to facilitate flood prevention work the river will be divided into three sections for each of which a flood prevention bureau will be established.
