AUTUMN RACE MEETING

(BY "LAST QUARTER”)

55.

Judging by the entries for the above race meeting which is being held on Sunday, November 29, followers of the Sport of Kings making the trip over to Macao should be rewarded with good folds, well above the average of those ut the previous meel- ings" The chief race of the afternoon will be the South China Handicap over 1-1/4 Miles, on which there is a big sweep. Tickets cost $200 each and the first prize, according to the latest re-

The ports, should be in the neighbourhood of $45,000.00. "Kinshan" will once again be or the run, leaving Hong Kong' at 9.30 am, and returning from acao at 6 pm. The programme opens with race for "D" Class China ponies over I Mile, the Chukiang Handi- cap. I am inclined to believe that that better class of the pontes en- tered wil be reserved for the main race, the South China Handicap, and am therefore confining my notes to the merits of those ponies which I consider will ultimately make up the field. Burgomaster and Cavalcade, 'both old timers, Ahould be on demand here. Valley View is not too at nowadays and must improve considerably to do well in this race. If The Hero elects to start, I believe he should be close with Burgomaster and Cavalcade next- Should Diogenes, Don or Plain View go to the post. I favour their chances against the others named. Punters will have to decide on the spot as to their bets, based on the above notes, r: so far the probable composition n the field is unknown.

Yin Grand and Brown Bee are the and best Merry Fatty rext Rothesay Bay re two ponies worth following if you are on the lookout for a big dividend,

The Macao Club zube of this season will figure in the second race, over Furlongs and a w'r for Victory Life is predicted. The póny, in my opinion, is a stayer and his last few gallops have been done. In fairly good time. Shih

best of the runnlag. 17th of Sep- tember can be relied on to give good account of himself and I be- teve the winner will be among the three mentioned. Victoria Hall has a big load to carry, being one the race. of the top weights in Diogenes, Don and Racing Boy are also provable starters. The latter, his best I am afraid, has seen days.

The 5th race is a mile run for "E" Class ponies and Macao suba Old Star (188 lbs.) does not seem to be much of weight carrier .but the opposlilan is mediocore, Shanghal Four Chance will be others worth fol- lowing. Blue Ribbon looked fairly well to me on Wednesday morning and if this pony strides out in the interval, he should get a place.
