ASHAMED OF WHITE AUSTRALIA POLICY

." "

Mr. C.F. Andrews On Young Australians Of To-Day

Young Australians of to-day are ashamed of the exclusive- ness implied in the White Australia Pulicy, said Mr. C. F. An- drews in a farewell address recently to the students of Trinity College... Kandy, where for the past two weeks he has been the guest of the Principal, the Rev. R. W. Stopford, and Mrs. Stop- ford, states the 'Colombo Times."

He had come out on a world tour, he said under the auspices of the World Student Christian Movement. Before he started out, he helped in a great mission in Cambridge last February, when 2.000 Cambridge students out of 1.000 came to the M'ssion every day to hear about Christ, He next proceeded to Fiji to hold the same mission. and thence to New Zen- land and Austraila.

WHITE AUSTRALIA POLICY During his tour, Mr. Andrews went on, he was greatly impressed by the fact that the younger gene- ration was everywhere taking the lead in every movement-young people were more and more deter- mined to make friendship and con- tach one with another. Mr. An- drews next referred to the White Australia polley, but he added the young

Australians to-day were [celing ashamed of that exclusive- *ness and spirit of friendship was capturing the Imagination <f everyone in the Australian Univer- alties, and that, he knew was the spirit of Trinity College, Kandy.
