Business during the week which has been on a restricted scale was further curtailed by a Bank holi- day on Wednesday last, but not- withstanding this the local market
has kept very steady, and there" has not been much fluctuation in prices.
Owing to heavy liquidation in Manila evidently caused by mani- pulation. Mining shares took u sudden downward tun, during the middle of the week and all issues showed a considerable deprecation in value. The market, howeyer, ralled again very quickly opening with an outburst of strength and wide gains were throughout the list,
