RED PLOT IN FRANCE

Press Disclosure

Paris, Nov. 6.

A plot for an armed Communist uprising in France was disclosed in a sensational article in the weekly "Gringoire".

The article alleges that the Com- munkt, M. Marty, who was a for- mer French Army officer, compet- ed his plans for the organisation of the Communist Revolutionary Army this month. The plan pro- vides for a utilisation of the so- called "Metropolitan Red Belt", Le the Paris suburbs, where the po- pulation ara mainly Com- munist. for encirclement of the capital The paper adds that Marty, who was until recently, a representative of the Third Inter- national in Spain, was relieved of this post recently so as to be able to devote himself exclusively to the organisation of a revolution in France.

Funds of 10 milion francs, re- garding the spending of which Marty has reported directly to the Third International in Moscow. had been placed at his disposal adds the paper, stressing that the strength of this revolutionary army in France must be estimated at about 80,000. For the equip- ment of this army the French re- volutionary Communists are, seld to have ordered, through Bwitzer- land and Belgium 10,000 rifles, 3,500 revolvers, 1,000 sub-machine guns, 750,000 revolver cartridges, 30.000 belts of ammunition for the sub-machine guns, 20,000 daggeri and 150,000 metres of telephone cable.

The paper concludes its sensa- tional article with a warning to the public to be prepared for all eventualities, since the equipment. of the army of revolutionaries will in the probably be completed course of November- Transocean New Service.
