Negotiations Tokyo Modifies Demands

Tokyo: Oct. 27.

A slight modification in Japan's attitude in the Sino-Japanese ne- gotiations has been agreed to by the Foreign Office according to several newspapers.

The "Nichi Nicht" says that the deliberations yesterday resulted in a decision "to seek nothing more from China at present than com- mitment in broad outlines regard- ing Japan's demands In North China and anti-communist co- operation," "

The "Miyako Shimbun" calls the present demands the lifeline of the Japanese proposals which cane not be withdrawn, but acceptance thereof may make the sacrinces by Japan on satisfactory points inevitable."
