Mr. Heary, Tom Brooks, Superintendent of the Hong Kong Fire Brigade, who has made it his illework to fight fires for 32 years, fourteen of which have been'speat in the Colony, ́Is leaving Hong Kong on June 12, next year prior to well earned retirement in March, 1938. When Mr. Brooks leaves the Colony next year, he will be 37 years of age.

Together with his wife and daughter. Mr. Brooks will probably settle in the Channel Islands in his retirement. Mr. Ronald Brooks, his son, who is also an officer in the Hong Kong Fire Brigade, is leaving here in January on Höme leave, and it is his intention to join his family in England.

Mr. Brooks' 14 years in the Colony has seen the local Fire Brigade grow from an obsolete establishment to one that is equipped with the latest-fire-fighting_appitinces. His record has been one of constant achievement of which he way,wei! be proud.
