TRAVEL ASSOCIATION “STARVED”
Inadequate Publicity Worse Than None
Problem For To-Day's Meeting
GOVERNMENT INDICATES FURTHER REDUCTION
When "The Hong Kong Daily Press" published a criticism on Tuesday of the official Handbook of the Hong Kong Travel Association under the heading, "Hung Kong Typed-Off", the Editor was bombarded with communications of a frank and free nature. Some of them were very frank. However, the fact was admitted that the criticism levelled against the official Handbook had no reference whatsoever the functioning of the Travel Association as such, but was strictly limited to the in- adequacy of the publicity of such a production for this part of the world which has justly been termed "the Riviera of the Orient.
WITHOUT ABUSING CON- FIDENCES, IT IS FAIR TO STATE THAT THE GENERAL OPINION IS THAT THE HANDBOOK JS POOR PUBLICITY MAINLY BE- CAUSE OF ITS UNIMAGINATIVE- NESS AND INCOMPLETENESS,

Even the most generously minded onlooker could not say that the Hong Kong Travel Association has been successful in carrying out its original purpose.
