With the talk of economic co-operation between. China and Japan now filling the air, a general survey of the economic resources of Hopei, Chahar, Suiyuan, Shansi, Shantung and Honan generally included in the sphere of North China-reveals that this area is not only abounding in coal and iron ore resources, but is also rich in mineral oil deposits. Besides being rich in mineral resources, Hopei, Chaliar, Shantung, Shansi, Shensi, Saiyuan, and Honan are also the leading wool and cotton-producing centres of China, according to a recent unofficial investigation.
