Continuing his evidence, Mr. J. M da Rocha of J. M. da Rocha, and Sons, who had been called as a witness under subpoena, stated that in London all arbitration was done through the "roduce Brokers Association.

PAY FIRST

It was the custom of the sup- plers to pay on the presentation of an award in Hong Kong for the purpose of convenience and if this were not the custom the ginger trade would be thrown into chaos.

Under re-examination by Mr. Silva, witness said that in all his experience there had never been a fraudulent claim on an award from London. I was a recognised fact that the London Market would not do business except un- der the old terms of usage, Bo much so that the Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong had re- ceived a letter from the London Produce Brokers' Association stat- ing that under no circumstances would they do business under the proposal
