AT THE KING'S
A though 福 simple murder mystery, with many people saying *boo" in dark corners, and making ominous statements, "Moonlight Murder, at King's Theatre, is a good picture to see, because of the singing and the comedy. The story is ladd
in the Hollywood Bow and "Il Trovatore" is pre- sented while the plot thickens backstage. Most of the comedy is presented by Frank McHugh and Robert McWade. The method of committing the murder is a little too unique, but the solution and the various incidents in the cinema make up for this fauit. Robert McWade, playing a minor part, is the hit of the fim as the chief of detectives. Lea Carillo is his usual excellent self. Chester Morris in this picture smokes pipe most of the time, which is his only departure from his pre- vious performances.

The trade war between Japan and the Netherlands East Indies that was carried on for two years, and threatened to reduce cargo- carrying rates to such an extent thai shipping companies faced serious losses due to the constant underbidding of rival companies, officially ended on July 1 this year with the signing of a pool agree- ment between Batavia and Tokyo, and in another six weeks will begin to take affect.
