NEWS FROM THE WATERFRONT
Freight and Asiatic Passengers Returns
(BY LONGSHOREMAN). The freight returns, received from the Harbour Office during the 24 hours ended at 9.00 am. yesterday, showed a considerably high tonnage movement, a large proportion of which being made up by British and Japanesë ships, The total tonnage of general cargo carried by vessels to the Colony was 21,768 tons. with British steamers carrying 3,495 tone
Through cargo for ports be- yond the Colony amounted to 21.043 tons, of which 7,110 tons were carried by British steamers. Asiatic deck passengers entering Into the Colony during the 2 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday were 794. of which, 552 were from British steamers.
There were altogether twenty- one arrivals, of which aine were of British registry. the remainder being of other nationalities, while of the fourteen departures, 5 were British ships. the rest being of other different countries. culars as follows: Nationality Ships
