The R.M.S. "Empress of Russia arrived at Vancouver on the 29th June (Monday) at noon/2.00 p.m. and leaves Vancouver on the 11th July (Saturday) at am. She is due at Hong Kong on the 30th July (Thursday) in the morning and leaves Hong Kong for Manila on the same day in the evening.

The R.M.S. "Empress of Canada" left Vancouver for Hong Kong, via Honolulu, Japan ports and the 27th June Shanghai, on

Saturday), a.m. She is due at 17th July Hong Kong on the (Friday), morning, and due to leave for Manila on the same day, in the evening.

The E. and A. Line's steam ship "Nankin" will leave "Hong Kong Brisbane. for Marila, Rabaul. Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart on or about Friday, the 3rd July, at 10.30a.m.

NEWS FROM THE WATERFRONT

Freight and Asiatic Passengers Returns

(BY LONGSHOREMAN). During the 24 hours ended at 9.00 am. yesterday, the freight retums. received from Harbour Ofee showed a fairly high ton- nage movement, a large proportion of which being made up by British and Japanese ships.

The total tonnage of general cargo carried by vessels to the Colons was 16,767 tons, with British steamers carrying 8,824 tons.

Through cargo for ports. be- yond the Colony amounted to 14.382 tons, of which 4,288 tons were carried by British steamers.

Asiatic deck passengers entering into the Colony during the 24 hours ended at 9.00 a.m. yesterday were 1811. of which 60% were from British steamers.

There were altogether sixteen

were of arrivals, of which six British registry, the remainder being of other nationalities. while, of the 18 departures. eight were British ships, the rest being of other different countries. Particu- lars as follows:-
