Junior Unexpected Results

ANOTHER POSSIBLE

SCORED

Club de Recreio's hopes of annexing the Senior League Lawri Bowls Championship were slightly dashed to the ground on Satur- day when they lost to the Bowling Green by nine shots. The

when their junior. winners incidentally secured the "double " team also won at the expense of the Recreio Junior. The K.C.C. was another Club to secure the "double.".

Several unexpected results cropped up in the junior league. The Football Club "B" secured win at the expense of their "A" team, while the Yacht Club secured their first win of the season when they beat the C.C.C.

The Junior game between the Footballers "A" and "B" teamı was featured by yet another possible the fourth of the season -when E. J. Edwards' "B" rink was responsible for it. The Bowl- ing Green junior's win places them in a very favourable"position for the junior honours,

Chinese Defeated In Keen Game

----

An exhibition game staged be- tween the U.S.S. Tulsa and the Combined Chinese Was played yesterday afternoon at the Cause- way Bay ground and resulted in A narrow win for the Tulsa boys by the score of 4 runs to 3.

It was a keenly fought match and the tight fielding was a treat to watch. Things did not seem so good for the sailor boys when "at the end of their fourth innings the Chinese were three clear runs to the good. The fourth innings of the Tulsa, however, saw them pile up three to equal their op- ponents.

Both sides then were on their mettle, and the Tulsa notched a single in the seventh. This run proved to be the deciding factor of the game, for the Chinese could not go any further ahead.
