CHAMPIONS' CLOSE CALL

For Recreio

"Double" For

SEVERAL EXCITING

BOWLS GAMES ::

By their surprise win over the K.C.C. Junjor, Club de Recreto were able to bring off the double on Saturday la the Lawn Bowls Leagues, and lacidentally enhanced their chances in their quests for the two honours.

Results in the other matches came off very much as expected, unexpected resistance was forthcoming by Taikoo in their match against the Seulor Champions, and, but for the splendid display riven by Luz's tour, the Happy Valley Club would have undoubted- ly gone under,

Several high scores were returned during the day W. Mair's Police rink enjoyed an overwhelming success at the expense of A. O. Madar's L.R.C. four winning by 27-7, while C. G. Silva's Re- crele rink smarting under their defeat of a week ago, beat R. P. Phillips' K.C.C. four by 32-8.
