All Belgium is in the grip of an intense election fever and feelings are running high on the eve of the polling which takes place on Sunday. The bitterness prevailing between the Socialista and the "Realists "the name assumed by the Belgian Fascists -led to the murder of two Socialists in Antwerp early on Satur day morning when a group of Realists posting up election 'pla-- cards came upon numbers of Socialists ikewise engaged. AB altercation ensued which ended with one Realist drawing a re. volver and shooting two Socialists dead.

Passaites, who lives in Antwerp, was the leading candidate for his party in Liege. A somewhat mysterious attempted raid on the former Vice- Chancellor, Prince von Starheinberg's castle at Wademberg in Up- per Austria, was made last night-

The police, who had been informed of the plan, had taken precautionary measures and succeeded in foiling the attempt, but had to make use of firearms in breaking the resistance of the would-be raiders, of whom two were killed and eight arrested.

The official report of the incident, intimates that the raid was or- ganised by the National Socialists who evidently intended to get hold of the castle.
