DR. O. C. KIEP'S TALK
At the dinner given in his honour at the German Club on Friday, Dr. O. C. Klep, Head of the German Economic Commission to the Far East, explained the "New Plan" of Dr. Schacht.
Dr. Klep had previously paid a courtesy on His Excellency and Governor. Sir Andrew Caldecott, to- gether with Herr H. Gipperich, German Consul, and had tea with His Excellency.
After outlining the burdens and problems of Germany. Dr. Klep stated that these problems had several times brought Germany to the verge, br' ruin, especially after the foreign credits extended to Germany under the Dawes and Young Plan were witdrawn in 1931, and consequently the whole credit Structure of the country threatened to collapse.
